Good Read

I just finished reading The Thirteenth Tale by Dianne Setterfield. Delishious. Highly recommended. I am not the kind of reader who ever solves the mystery before the ending, and once again I was suprised and satisfied.

I only wish I had saved it for our long flight. Any recommendations?

I am such a slow reader....that I have been reading this book for a week and am only on page 100. I am enjoying it...but it is such a strange family. I don't like the sadism. Did that bother you?

The whole bone carving thing was a bit creapy, but it isn't really a theme later in the book. Actually I kind of forgot about the brother/sister thing until you mention it.

As the twins get older, the story is still odd, but not all gross-o, and very interesting. The governess...

My new favorite author is Ted Dekker. The first book I read of his was fabulous, it was called Obsessed. I have never read anything so suspenseful, and it captivated me the entire time! My mom thought the same thing. I highly recoomend it, it is clean and grabs you from the start! I'd be interested to hear if you ever read it!

Deanne, I have not read it, but our library has it and I put it on hold - I hope it's not to scary...

I have no suggestions right now as my reading is going very slow these days with the 2 wee ones. But, I did just finish the 1000 White Women book, which I really liked and am plodding through the Giants in the Earth. It was interesting reading those back-to-back since they take place in the same time-period, but from 2 different perspectives.

Wendy~ I would not say the book is scary. Intense is a better word to describe it.
