TetherBall

++++++++++++++++++

I have a new calling. (Mormon-talk for volunteer church job that you really didn't volunteer for, but you're (mostly) happy to do.) Last night was my first night on the job at Young Womens.

The Beehives (my assigned group) were in charge of teaching some sweet sports skills. We did soccer drills, volleyball bumping, jump roping, and yoga. We did not get to play tether ball, but John and I play sometimes at school.

I am embarrassed to admit that I'm a little sore this morning. I think from the sideways shuffling up to a line and back and up to the next line and back again.

A couple of the girls in our ward are on their middle school jump roping team. They have the cutest routine evah! I am so jealous. I must learn it.

They also know how to do double dutch, and gave each of us a chance to try jumping in. I'm proud to announce that I was able to jump in on my first try! Go double dutch! Now that I think about it, swinging those ropes may be why my arms are a little sore. (don't tell the young women, they already think I'm oooooooold)

I think we need to start a neighborhood jump roping club...Where do you buy those long jump ropes?

Jump roping is like the best exercise evah! We should start a jump roping team. Our legs would look HAWT!
Izzy loves tetherball. We have one in our backyard.

Fun sports night! Does this mean you aren't in with the Sunbeams anymore? You have graduated to YW?!!

Jump roping is so fun and tiring! I remember doing double dutch at Sonoma.

Speaking of being embarrassingly sore, remember when mom gave all the husbands in the fam dart boards for Christmas? One Saturday Randy and I played so long I was sore the next day. From playing darts. Sheesh.

Did someone say donuts????

Jump roping sounds like so much! Except for the fact that as an....ahem....older woman I have a slight problem when it comes to jumping.

So can I have sprinkles with my depends, I mean donut.

Jump roping sounds like so much fun! Duh! Looks like incontinence isn't my only old lady problem.....

K, I have never heard of a jump roping team. Sounds like a sport.

So if Gina + sport = face plant, butt flop or any other cause for the embarrassed-red-face - count me out!

Man I wish I were coordinated... I could sure use the exercise.

I used to love double dutch as a girl! I think the only thing double I have now is my chin... :(

How fun that you get to be with the Beehives. Giggly and silly yet, but still very impressionable! :)

They get the ropes at the Jump Roping HQ.
The Beehives are the best girls ever :) They are sweet, eager and excited, bet you'll have lots of fun!
