If

If you had planned a little getaway to a neighbor island with your honey,

but it turns out your sweetie was,

then wasn't,

then was again,

and then probably for reals wasn't actually going to be able to "get away",

what would you do?

Cancel? Cry? Go Shopping? Eat Chocolate?

Keep your reservation, go to the Big Island, hike the active volcano, and swim with the manta rays....alone?

Reschedule for a one-day in your own hometown kind of get away? (Waikiki Beach is just a few minutes away, that wouldn't be so bad, would it?)

I would cancel, then try for the one-day away in the hometown....and, yes, I would cry (shopping and chocolate doesn't sound too bad either). I hope you are able to make something work!

Hmm. I'd cancel. I'd go!. I'd invite a friend?
I don't know, a free weekend is still a free weekend, but on the other hand, it's not as fun to do things without your best friend (your husband).
Sorry :(

:( Sorry!! That is a tough choice. I think I would pass on the original plan and do something closer to home that he can do with you. Or maybe if you could find a friend to go swimming with the rays, it sounds like it might be the perfect getaway for mom!

I'm sorry Wendy! What a bummer. I would cry, pout, eat a lot and probably cancel. The town close to home sounds good too. I mean- you ARE in Hawaii!

Thanks girls. I wouldn't really go alone (at least not right before his deployment) but I hate that we can't go.

Time to plan something a little closer to home...

Oh no!!! So sad. I'm pretty sure you'll find something to do over there in paradise :)

Cancel then reschedule. I can't say I'd have too much fun on a romantic getaway by myself.

I'm so sorry!

Aw, that stinks! Cancel the plans and see if he can do something a bit more low-key closer to home.

bummer! sorry :(

for the record I'd do something closer to home too but I'd be sad about missing those manta rays.

He's deployed again?

Dang! I hope you guys get to do something fun, even if it is in boring old Waikiki :)

Amber - true, a romantic getaway all alone would be lame.

txmommy - he's getting ready to deploy to Iraq later in the year.

Wendy, my bags are packed so you and I can have a weekend away. What time would you like my flight to arrive? I think we could be good dive buddies.

I'm sorry your fun weekend plans were canceled. I think the one day plan sounds good.

I would cancel, cry (or at least attempt to do so), eat chocolate on my way to go shopping in Waikiki Beach with my husband for a one-day hometown getaway.

I'm sorry your big plans got changed. :(

Iraq!?! You should have stayed in South Dakota. ;) Did you hear about the Sheffield's and the Creer's? They are both going to Alabama, some big training or schooling thing. We will miss them!

Oh Wendy, how disappointing! Hopefully you'll be able to have your romantic getaway another time!

Awww. That's sad! I'm sorry! I understand about the honey's unpredictable schedule... Dear Husband and I used to live on the Big Island but we just got stationed back on the mainland. So sad!
A hui hou!
