Brace Face

Look who has braces, now! Hannah has been counting down the days....

I've been practicing my favorite nicknames, for her: Railroad Tracks, Metal Mouth, Tinsel Teeth, Jaws! But so far I haven't been able to make her cry.

I was amazed when I zoomed in on that first photo to see the detail! You can see spit bubbles and lip texture and boogers. (just kidding, no bogeys - sorry Han.) Congratulations on your new Tin Grin!

Nathan left me home alone with his camera this month and I am having fun learning just how coolio it is! It is amazing how many things you can find to photograph when you bring the camera along. Must go browse through Pioneer Woman's Tutorials

I had no idea braces were still silver ...none!

AW - we had a consultation with one ortho who offered all kinds of fancy braces - white gold braces, ceramic braces, invisalign. Then we found this ortho - 1/3rd the price, only silver braces. Guess who we chose...

Wow, Hannah looks so grown up! I saw that first picture and thought, "Who is that cute lady?" Is it the hair? The braces? I don't know. Where did my wee baby niece go?

I hope Hannah's teeth aren't too sore! Her cute smile will be even more fabulous in no time!

p.s. Great pictures!

Cool close up! Hannah is so pretty, she looks like your side of the family :)
I agree, great camera work Wendy.

My husband has the cool, super expensive camera with all the lenses (canon), I have the little tiny camera that fits in my purse so I can take blog pictures at any time :)

PS: I loved your comment "he speaks un-spanish VERY LOUDLY", hahahaha!

Mary - her new hair-do has had me writhing in she's-all-grown-up agony. But I think the braces actually make her look a little younger. Plus, now that she's taller than me, maybe she'll let me borrow her clothes sometimes!

Donna - I'll email you - thanks!

NCS - thanks for saying she looks like one of the MickyB's. I usually only get "she looks just like her dad" And she really does look like her dad, but sometimes me! A little purse sized camera is a good thing.

Hannah is getting so grown up! I do love the new do. She even looks cute with braces. I'd go with the cheap braces too! I got braces when I was 21. I got the ceramic kind because I was vain. I thought they would look better, not so. I always felt like it looked like I had food stuck in my teeth because you could see something, but couldn't tell they were braces.

She looks so cute, and I didn't know who it was at first either. I like her new hairdo.
Good luck at making her cry with the name-calling, don't give up! :)

The braces these days are so cute. You can have colors to match your school, or whatever. It always throws me off when I see kids with bright pink bands :)
Back in the day....braces went alllll the way around every tooth! Very gross.

Your daughter looks so much better in her braces than I did in mine.
