Thank Heavens I'm not in charge of the Primary Program this year.
Whew! What a big job all you Primary Presidencies around the World have.
From my seat in the Sunbeam secion I just want to let you know that you are doing great! And, thanks for all your hard work. And don't worry, the first day of practice is always a little crazy!

I finished typing out the parts on Saturday night at 11 p.m. There are 76 kids in our primary and it was quite an undertaking.
Our first practice is next Sunday!
I had to write and "direct" our program this year. I cut out all the million parts- we had 12 small speaking parts. We sang extra songs- 17 total with some special musical numbers like a few kids playing the violins, a family singing, Sei played the piano, the activity day girls signed ASL to a song...
It was yesterday and the bishop told me it was the best program he had ever seen!! 15 other people told me that too. I really think cutting out all the parts made a difference. I thought parents would complain, but the Spirit was so strong how could they??
Anyway... yes, I'm bragging. :D
Amen Sistah!
Tori, did you cut speaking parts before or after you handed out the parts? We too have lots of extra songs planned and I'm nervous about the length of the program and just know I'll have to cut something! Either risk making the music lady mad at me (again) or risk disappointment by kids/parents by cutting down on the speaking....
I only handed out 10-12 parts to begin with. I didn't want a lot of speaking parts because I think it takes away from the program. I was worried about mad kids/parents but after the program there was no way anyone could have complained. I would have said "Were you at the same program I was??" I think the kids were happy getting to sing. Not one kid complained except for the one kid I expected it from- he's a whiney brat, so...
