I am so sad.

Our first duty station was Pensacola Naval Air Station. It was a great introduction to the military, and one cool thing was the Blue Angels who lived in our neighborhood and flew right over our house.

Our first day on base we were driving out the back gate, past the air field right along the gulf of Mexico, when we saw a sign that read - Close Windows - Loud Noise Area. Just as we passed the sign two Blue Angels screamed right over our little brown van. Wowza - they are so LOUD! You can feel them.

I'm so sorry for their loss.

Wendy, I read about that last night and thought of you guys. It's so, so sad, especially with the pilot's family watching. I hope the family is coping okay.

p.s. Didn't Hannah attend Blue Angels elementary? I love that Halloween costume! You are so creative!

Yes, I am very sad too.
I really love the Angels.
I have been watching them all my life (our dad took us to see them)
We practiced the manuvers in our swimming pool.

You do this by swimming right toward your sister and just as you almost bump heads...you both do a quarter turn, passing by one another...tummies almost touching.

It's magical Blue Angel swimming, at it's best.

May the young pilot rest in peace.

Oh, that is soooo sad!
I grew up with my Dad taking us to air shows. I've always loved watching airplanes fly. Every once in awhile the B1's buzz our house, I love it.
