Taxes and Friday Feast

Appetizer
Where on your body do you have a scar, and what caused it?

I have a pea sized scar on my chest, just left of center, above my garment line - visible if I wear a v-neck shirt. It was a mole, just after Emily was born it grew and grew and grew. My favorite doctor in Pensacola removed it. He was a really young guy, and missed Emily's birth because he was getting married! I asked him for weightloss tips after Emily was born, and he said he had been trying to lose a little weight before his wedding, but wasn't able to (that made me feel better, even doctors have trouble with weight.) And he said this is the real secret to weightloss: "eat less, move more." There you have it!

Soup
What is something that has happened to you that you would consider a miracle?

Being a teen parents and still having a lasting marriage.

Salad
Name a television personality who really gets on your nerves.

Tom Cruise. Ew.(not an actual TV guy, but I hated that Oprah jump over the couch moment)

Main Course
What was a funny word you said as a child (such as "pasketti" for "spaghetti")?

I called myself Wendy Dan. My middle name is Ann.

Dessert
Fill in the blank: I have always thought ______ was ______.

I have always thought shaving was over-rated.
I remember my mom saying "I shave once a week whether I need it or not." Once a week works when you wear pants all the time, but I have to be ready to go to the beach on a moment's notice. So I shave atleast every-other day, and I am getting a little sick of it.

Thanks, Donna, for the Friday Feast!

=====================

Here are my tips for easy tax preparation:

Don't get divorced

Don't have a job. That makes it so much easier.

Don't own a home or investment property.

Don't have a lot of investment income, period.

Don't have a farm.

or income from overseas or gambling winnings.

Don't put it off. The sooner you do it, the easier it seems.

Use Turbo Tax, e-filing, and direct deposit.

The End.

+++++++++

Do you prepare your own taxes? Does your husband do it? Do you take in your stuff to your accountant? Or are you more of a tax evasionist? Did you already file? or Do you wait until April 15th (you have until the 17th this year)?

I love those Friday Feasts, I'll have to head over and comment on Donna's blog.

Tax tips, excellent. No divorce. Check. No job. Check. No farm. check. No overseas gambling. Check. E-filing and direct deposit. Check!

Randy sent ours in yesterday, in fact. He seems to love doing the taxes, isn't that funny? And he almost always gets them in early. Refund here we come.

I can't stand Ben Stiller. His movies give me indigestion. IMNSHO,he is not a good actor, nor is he funny.
( Annie hears boos and hissing and goes to the corner to sulk.)

Taxes -- hubby does them. He's created a handy-dandy excel spreadsheet and just tweaks it every year. We almost always do them as early as possible -- unless we have to pay!

I agree with shaving -- not my favorite thing to do, but in the summer it's every day or every other day. We swim a lot!

Ryan does our taxes (thanks man!) This is the first year that he has used Turbo Tax, and I think he'll never go back! :) He gets started early with getting all paperwork etc together so when he gets his W9 (is that what it is called??) he can go to town. This year we file in two states! Moving always makes taxes more difficult! Gotta buy a house this year so we won't get 'hit' so much!

Shaving....yuck! What a pain! You're right, it is overrated! I remember looking forward to shaving when I was young. Yeah, it looks nice but such a hassle!

Mary - that's why I like Randy. I filed our taxes on Wednesday!

Annie - I don't like Mr. Stiller either. Kind of gross.

Nikko - swimming in Texas was my favorite when I was pregnant with John. I'm sure I looked like a beached whale, though.

Deanne - we still send in our taxes to Oregon thanks to a military state tax thing, so we don't have to change states. We also register our cars there. Lucky us. I think that changes if we buy a house.

are you thinking of buying a 'hut' in paradise?

I can't stand Rosie O. The funny thing is that I used to love her talk show I watched it everyday, until she got all politcal and she is even worse on the View. Now don't go thinking I have a problem with her because of her sexual orientation that has nothing to do with it.Ellen Degeneres is my favorite comedian and has been for a very long time. I can't wait to see her host the Oscars on Sunday.

Gosh, I didn't realized Tom was married to Katrina, I thought her name was Katie. Haha!

Since Iraq and Katrina are current events not tv celebrities, I choose Ryan Seacrest (sp?)
Heather

Carronin - I liked Rosie, too. And we looooved the Ellen sit-com. She is funny funny and, thankfully, not too political.

Heather - ha ha Katie. Do you think I should just delete "Anna's" post? Who is Ryan Seacrest?

Deanne - we are still considering, but leaning more toward no.

I think you should delete Anna's comment. It's just plain rude! For like one second I thought it was your sister Anna, but it's not, so boot the comment out! :)

There was controversy and I missed it? dang!.

"Eat less move more", too bad it's easier doing the opposite.
Whatever happened to Tom Cruise? Back in his Top Gun days he was super hot. Now he's just a wacky crazy caricature of a man.

Taxes: we send them to our accountant, ah yes, I can’t read government forms, really, the stress associated with even reading the instructions/questions is too much for my poor brain.

Good feast Wendy :)

Thank goodness that my hubby does it. He always has. I've heard it's not too hard, but I'm still really intimidated by taxes. We get the direct deposit too. Some years we've gotten our refund as early as mid-February! :)
