It's Aloha Friday!

Thanksgiving in Hawaii was lovely.

The kids spent the day outside having a waterballoon fight while I basted the turkey and baked my favorite rolls.

John got a sunburn (bad mom award)!

The turkey was good. Maybe a little dry, but not bad. We had way way way too much food, and the leftovers are excellent! The Turkey and the Lumpia should last through the weekend.

I got up at 4:15am to go to the NEX with a couple other ladies. There was a crazy long line of people who had been waiting since midnight. Yikes! We were able to go right in and find the few things we wanted. There were lots and lots of the item I was interested in, so I could have slept in, or waited until tomorrow, but it was kind of fun to be out there in the craziness. Did you find any hot deals today?

Christmas music was all over the radio, so I guess it's time to search for the Christmas decorations...

After I hid the loot in the garage, I ate a piece of pumpkin pie and took a nap.

I think it's time to eat again, but all the rolls are gone, so I'm going to have to go whip up another batch to go with the turkey...

****wave report for Nathan***

The waves are up on the North Shore so head that way if you want to try see some surfing. Waves are calm down by Waikiki, so head that way if you want to do any SCUBA or spearfishing.

hauoli makahikihou! Or something like that. Glad you had a great turkey day in HI. I slept in until 5:30am before heading to the W and Fred Meyer. I hid the loot in the travel trailer bathroom. Want to come to a rocking gift wrap party in our trailer?

Amanda suggested I check out your blog, so here I am. I love Hawaii--was just there.

Sounds like you had a fun Thanksgiving.

I did not go out shopping and am just fine :) (Okay, my sister-in-law and I did stop in at Target on our way home from a movie last night, but that doesn't count)

Way to go braving the crowds so early in the morning!

I'm not a big Black Friday shopper. In fact I generally stay away from stores altogether on that day. However, since Caleb had a bad bout of croup the night before which resulted in Ryan taking him to the ER at 1 AM, I had to find a humidifier (we are at my parents house...how could I have forgotten to pack the humidifier??!!...phht!) :)

OH wow! Thanksgiving. In Hawaii!
How wonderful!
Thanks for the great post! I'm a Canadian so no black Friday shopping for us. Probably all for the best. I'm a bit of a reforming shop-a-holic!

Glad that you had a great thanksgiving. We went to Roy & Terri's and spent the day playing (Terri taught me how to crochet!) and pigging out. Lot's of fun! :)

I refuse to go anywhere near a store the day after Thanksgiving. Someday I will go just so I can say I did.

Just one word of warning - beware of hiding gifts in the garage. I seem to remember one Christmas many years back when some sneaky kids found the coveted Cabbage Patch dolls wrapped and hidden in the . . . garage.

Love ya, mom

I didn't want to brave the crowds so I stayed home on Black Friday! Good for you for venturing out and how fun that you found what you were looking for. Not many people can say that they had a water balloon fight on Thanksgiving. It sounds like you had a nice holiday! :)

All right, there is just too much talk of sun and beaches for Thanksgiving. I'll get even more depressed if I read that about your Christmas. :-)
