Happy Mother's Day to Me
Portrait of me. By John.
I think this is the first time he has drawn a picture of me.
I love it!

I had a lovely MOther's Day, and I hope you did, too.
Nathan called early to wish me a happy mother's day. Then Hannah brought me breakfast in bed (an egg sandwich on a toasted bagel.) Then I got to open all my cool gifts! A necklace, a bracelet, a couple cards and pictures, a few "good for one free ..." coupons, and a sweet photography book from Nathan.
Being a mom is the best!
I stayed in bed all morning reading, and Sydney brought me hot chocolate chip cookies in bed. Mmm! Yea for kids who can safely operate the oven (with supervision!)
I wore my new paper bead and yarn jewelry to church, where I was given some chocolates and flowers.
All in all a good day.
I sent my mom and my mom-in-law lei's for mother's day. I hope they wore them to church. Mom? I love you! Happy Mother's Day!
Here is my favorite poem for Mother's Day. It reminds me of my mom.
You are the trip I did not take;
You are the pearls I cannot buy;
You are my blue Italian lake.
You are my piece of foreign sky.

Sounds like a fabulous time! Glad that you had a lovely Mother's Day (and I love the drawing)!
How sweet! I love that picture of you! That's a great mother's day! And I wish I could see mom wearing her lei, what a great idea.
The picture is so sweet!
I'm so glad you had a nice relaxing day with your kids. Sounds like your kids took good care of you yesterday. Good for them!!! Oh, and I agree, the lei was a great idea! What else is a girl in Hawaii to send her mother?! :)
I just came over here from Too Many to Count. I must say I am jealous of your paper bead and yarn jewelry! I would love to have had some to wear to church yesterday too!
Hi Wendy,
You are such a positive person! I loved your smile experiment. I hate it when I say hello, wave, or smile and no one does it back. I won't give up though. Thanks for being you!
Love,
Mary
I love that poem also. Whenever I think to myself, "why haven't Ben and I been able to afford_________" I am like oh yeah,'cause we have 4 kids. And I wouldn't trade them for anything!
Happy Mothers Day!
Look at you! So tall and thin :D
Happy Mother's Day +1 day.
I love that picture too! I think I still have some pictures like that that you girls drew a few years back! Thank you, thank you for the beautiful lei, made of orchids I think! It was fun to look so beautiful - many people commented on it. Your smile attitude impressed me too. I thought about you today when I tried harder to smile at kids at school. Thanks. Mom
