Thursday 13
13 things I need to do before Saturday, when my Big Sister and her family arrive at the Tiki Hut
1. Fluff Hammock.
2. Pick up porta-crib, high chair, and baby-gate from my neighbor.
3. Install an AC unit in the kitchen window.
4. Scrub out the bathtubs.
5. Remove books from the bottom of the book case and bring down a few baby toys. Also, crawl around and look for other dangerous items and put them away - ie the box of photos and John's paper clip collection.
6. Put indoor plants upstairs so baby Katie won't eat them.
7. Go shopping for stuff like water bottles and snacks so I look like I'm cool like that.
8. Decide whether to have them sleep in our room downstairs or upstairs in the girls' rooms. I just don't know which is best. If they are downstairs, they will have more room to roam if Katie doesn't want to sleep, and a little more privacy, but if they are upstair, Katie could have her own room - and the PT won't wake them up in the morning. I don't know. I think we've discussed this before.
9. Show Emily and John how the flush works on the toilet.
10. Sweep off back lanai (patio) and set out the little lawn mower and dump trucks for Katie and John to enjoy.
11. Stock up on sunblock and bug spray.
12. Paint my nails and pluck my eyebrows and chin hairs.
13. Iron my grass skirt and pick up my coconut bikini from the dry cleaner.

I'm don't know where you live but with Tiki-Hut and that picture, I definately want to be there!
Excellent list! I love #9 and 12 haha!
I'm excited for you guys to get to visit. And a visit in Hawaii no less!! Have fun!
how loud does PT get? i used to hear it in germany, but here i hardly hear it. although sometimes i hear the morning reveille and other things.
i would love to sleep on your fluffed hammock....
Whoo-hoo! Hawaii here we come!!
My instincts tell me that we should share a room with Katie, if possible. Though we can work with whatever arrangement works best for you guys!
See you in JUST TWO DAYS!!
I had no idea you had to have a coconut bikini dry cleaned. Good to know before my big trip to Hawaii... in a few years.
How do you exactly Fluff a hammock?
And, are toilets in Hawaii different than mainland?
This is going to be so much fun Wendy! How long are they staying??
That is so great that Laurie and her family are visiting you! I hope you all have a fabulous time (how could you not?)!!! Be sure to take pics and tell us all about it!
btw....John has a paper clip collection?
What about scheduling your rendevous with Jack!?! Don't you introduce all your out of town guests to the 'locals'? Oh, thats right, Jack is off fighting the others.
Have a great visit with your sister. How fun to have family come visit you in paradise!
I hope you all have a great time!
Hope you have a great time! Your list cracked me up. I especially liked #7. I do the same thing.
I am so excited for you and Laurie and families. I think I liked #13 the best or maybe #12 - especially get those chin hairs.
When Mary visited here I went to the store and finally bought one of those little high chairs that strap to a regular chair at Walmart. It cost less than $20.00 , worked just great and is easy to store. (I apologize to all the McSisters who visited with children when we didn't have a high chair!) Love ya, mom
I bet your sis will be glad to see you even if you didn't quite get through the list, although #13 is absolutely essential!
and you'll love every minute!
Errrr...they dry clean those? Mental note for next time. :-)
HAVE FUN!!!
I find sisters are helpful in the plucking department. Especially if you have man whiskers and mutant hairs.
