Mary had a little Birthday

My little sister Mary is celebrating her birthday today!

With a name like Mary, how can you not be cool? Mary had a little lamb. Mary, Mary, quite contrary. Mary, Mary, Why you buggin'? Mary Christmas. And, my personal favorite: Night-Mare! (which used to send her wailing and crying to our shared bedroom)

Mary is smack-dab in the middle of the seven girls in our family. She is just 2 years younger than me, and I can't remember a time in my life without her as my friend.

My favorite thing about Mary is that she is always so sweet and positive. She lifts me up and encourages me to do my best. She is a terrific mom to two sweet and energetic kids. She is a new Primary President in her ward. She shares my Harry Potter love. And she still trusts me at the wheel of a car, even though she was there when I nearly drove in to a large chainlink fence...

Mary, I hope you have fun celebrating your birthday on the beach in California!

Happy Birthday to ewe!

It's fleece was white as snow...

Happy Birthday, Mary! I'm glad that I'm not the only one that teased the sisters that I love while growing up.

You've got to tell us the almost driving through a chainlink fence story. I ran over a mailbox with my sister while driving a truck and my sister still rides with me too! LOL at teenage drivers! :D

What lovely photographs on this blog. Thanks for sharing with the world. You've lived in some pretty nice places.

Since moving here from England, we've travelled further West than before, and the sunsets seem to get better and better. They're my favorite thing to photograph, as you'll see if you visit my blog.

By the way, what is the Utahblogfest link I see on some sites? I haven't heard of that before, even though I live here.

I think I wrote this on Mary's blog, but she shares a birthday with the star of Harry Potter. How cool is that??

Suzanne - I do need to write about my driving skills....

Hi Anne - thanks for stopping by. Your Spotlight the Youth contest looks like fun! I've never heard of the Utah Blogfest, sorry!

Anna - Very cool!

Thanks, Wendy. Yes, the contest IS fun. And there aren't many entries to date! If anyone wants to blog about it on their site, please feel free to do so. There's an article about it on Bella Online today--in the LDS Family section at http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art4430.asp Maybe that will spark a bit of interest. Otherwise it will be an easy win for some lucky contestant :-)

I have a little sister named Mary, too. Guess what song I sing to her?
It's by run dmc--Mary, Mary, Why ya' buggin?
I called mary this AM b/c she's in ut and gets the day off and I don't, so I made my girls call her at 9am on the dot to sing Pioneer Children songs to her at full blast.
You're probably too nict to do that to your little sister :) Happy Birthday Mary!!
