Bad Dream

It's been a while since I had a bad dream about Nathan.

But, early this morning I had one of those bad bad dreams. I don't remember the whole dream, and I don't wanna write about all of it and jinx myself or something, but it ended with me trying to decide if it would be better to move with the kids to California near his family, or Oregon near mine. (which is a tiny bit odd since I don't have a whole lotta family in Oregon)

and then I heard a knock on the door.

The knock woke me up from my bad dream and I stayed in bed until I heard another knock to be sure I wasn't still dreaming.

at 5:45am.

That's just the kind of thing to stop my heart.

and make me wish I wore attractive jammies to bed last night.

But I scrambled to find my glasses and my robe. I made it to the door and looked out the peep hole......

...and it was just a neighbor kid offering Hannah a ride to cross country practice, not a few men in uniform. Whew!

note to Nathan: come home soon!

I HATE those dreams.
...and to be woken by a real knock on the door... terrifying I'm sure.
my prayers are with you, and I'm glad it was all just a dream.

wheew!

i think dreams are fascinating, as long as they aren't scary.

Oh my word! I think you made my heart skip a beat or two!! Sadly we have a whole different reality than some spouses. There are just some things that have to be in the back of our minds at all times. You obviously NEED him home now. It's amazing how much better you sleep when you know they are right there with you! Good luck passing the time quickly. You will be in my thoughts and prayers (a little strange because I've never even met you....but we're kinda family, right?) until he arrives home safely!

Ugh. I can't imagine the dreams I would have if my husband was away. It's bad enough all the irrational dreams I have about my kids getting hurt.

So glad it was only a neighbor....

Yikes Wendy, that's scary. That kind of dream makes my heart hurt for you. I'm glad Nate is getting home soon!

Oh Wendy, I'm sorry! I have had similar dreams about James this last deployment. In the back of my mind I kept thinking about what I would do in case the nightmare became reality. Thankfully all turned out fine and he is home safe. Hang in there! I know for me the dreams stopped as soon as he got home. Hopefully they will stop for you. He's almost home!
