I happened to be watching TV that morning and saw the second tower get hit live. We didn't live on base so I was really scared that James was locked on the base. They put the whole base on lock down for most of the day. They wouldn't allow calls in or out. No one could get on or off the base. I was really scared.
Your post brought all of that back, so sad. I haven't forgotten either.
Thanks for the post.Mary Petersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11940559371864868433noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270568.post-80712289386405869912008-09-12T07:42:00.000-10:002008-09-12T07:42:00.000-10:00Hi,I came across your blog recently. My dad is a civilian who works on that base, and we used to go to the pool on base during the summers. After 9/11 things changed. We couldn't even get out of our neighborhood because of all the traffic trying to get on base. The cars would be backed up for miles. And we stopped making summer trips to the pool. Our world has changed a lot in 7 years.Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00324070913172560772noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270568.post-47096326241692131872008-09-11T16:43:00.000-10:002008-09-11T16:43:00.000-10:00So sad.
