A historical novel, about one girl's account of the leprosy settlement in Moloka'i in the 1890's. I'm hoping to blog about it a little more as soon as I'm finished. Plus, I thought you'd be extra interested since you are in Hawaii! Happy Reading!Valhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01199679392956805164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270568.post-41606788219988860232009-01-24T10:21:00.000-10:002009-01-24T10:21:00.000-10:00Right now I'm just reading textbooks, which are no...Right now I'm just reading textbooks, which are no fun! Boo! But I did finally read some Shannon Hale books last summer and I enjoyed them! Life is always more interesting when there is a good book. Especially if you get to snuggle up on the couch with a blanket! :) Good luck finding one that you can read after dark! ;)Suzannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17551412295647029026noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270568.post-78554679166937317082009-01-23T09:27:00.000-10:002009-01-23T09:27:00.000-10:00I just finished reading the 4th book in the Odd Th...I just finished reading the 4th book in the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz.
And now I am bookless :(

I will give A Great and Terrible Beauty a try as you promised it to be scary :)Super Happy Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15669901597597136922noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270568.post-34010534203428369662009-01-22T03:12:00.000-10:002009-01-22T03:12:00.000-10:00Wendy, you should join goodreads.com. You can go on there and rate books you've read (either just give it a rating out of 5 stars or actually write a review) and then you can connect with friends and see what they have liked. It's really helped me get ideas for what to read next! I will TOTALLY be your friend on goodreads and Mary is on there as well. Because I harassed her about it until she finally signed up. And right now I'm reading "A Short History of Nearly Everything" by Bill Bryson. I recommend anything by Bill Bryson, he's hilarious. His memoir "Adventures of the Thunderbolt Kid" and "Walk in the Woods" (about hiking the Appalachian Trail) are two of my favorites.
Jenica
PS I'm feeling like this is my first time actually commenting on your blog. It seems that every time there is a book I want to read the waiting list for the one copy avaiable is 12-13 people long. Or they just don't have the book at all. Can be frustrating when I am looking for something to read.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8270568.post-5366201218450987552009-01-21T16:45:00.000-10:002009-01-21T16:45:00.000-10:00I really enjoyed the Kite Runner and/or A Thousand...I really enjoyed the Kite Runner and/or A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. The inter-library loans between military bases on Hawaii is okay. I should use our city library more, it's just farther away.
